The Too Difficult Box gets Book of the Year

Charles Clarke’s The Too Difficult Box was judged Practical Politics Book of the Year at the Paddy Power Political Book Awards 2015. Given to a text providing insight into “the structures and processes of politics” and offering “clear, analytic, contextual” argument, the panel of judges were impressed by the edited volume’s range across policy areas combined with a sustained attack on the problem of long-term policymaking.

The panel consisted of:

  • Jacqui Smith, former Home Secretary
  • Olly Grender, working peer
  • Romilly Weeks, newsreader and journalist
  • India Knight, journalist and author
  • Peter Hain, politician

Charles Clarke was a judge on the Political History Book of the Year panel.
